How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different from how it would have been four months ago in that I have been able to pay all the college arrears in time. I had a huge fees balance because I did not have any income to help pay my fees. I only depended on my uncle who had other family members to educate too. This is why he would fail to pay my arrears in time. I started paying my fees on a monthly basis as I received the transfers. So far I have cleared the balance and I am studying in peace.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I wish to start cloth business. The business will provide me with an extra income to help me cater for my needs and raise money to pay my fees arrears. Through this, I know I will not be sent home for arrears anymore.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I joined polytechnic last year to enhance my education qualifications. I have always depended on my uncle to provide money for my fees. This is because my parents could not manage to raise money to pay school fees. Since he had so many other needs to attend to, at times, he would fail to pay my arrears in time and I ended up being sent home for the same. Since I started receiving these transfers, I have never been sent home for arrears anymore. I have never felt the fear of missing examinations anymore because of my fees.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life is to change in that I will be having a business to help me boost my income. The business will be my main source of income which will help me handle my issues well and in time. I would not want to depend on others after this life-changing opportunity.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life has really changed. The fact that I can support myself really gives me confidence and the morale to put more effort into my studies. I used to feel so bad that my uncle had to sacrifice a lot for me. At times his family suffered just to see me go to school. I am happy that the burden will be reduced.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I currently do not any goal but just to ensure that I am able to finish my college with little rather zero fee balance.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference since I started receiving my transfers is that I have been able to support my uncle in paying my school fees. This had been a burden left to him and you could see him struggle to make ends meet. I am glad that now he will be somewhat free to spend a few coins for his personal use.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I am certain that I will be attending school with little distractions caused by fee arrears. I will have cleared this semesters school fees.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Four months ago, I was really struggling to clear the huge fee balance I had in college which had accumulated over time due to my father's inability to raise the money. This gave me a lot of stress as I always thought that I would have to drop out due to lack of fees, but when I started receiving my transfers I paid most of it and I am now settled. Lately, I am more relaxed and have a lot of concentration in my studies because I have money for both personal needs and college requirements.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have no additional goals at the moment because I want to fully concentrate on clearing my college fees so that when I clear, I will be handed my certificate at once. I only have a few months left to clear my training, therefore, I can't afford to spend my transfers on any other thing because clearing the fees is my priority for now.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I am in college and live on my own in Kisumu. Life has been quite easy for me in the last four months as compared to how it was five months ago, which is attributed to the fact that these transfers have enabled me to be up to date with my college fees and even have money for personal use. Months ago when all the burden of my upkeep and fee payment was on my father, I could not afford even the basic needs of a woman because the money he sent me was barely enough to pay my rent. With these transfers,I don't have to constantly bother my father with monetary requests as I did before because I can take care of most of them on my own.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I will have completed my training and I hope that these transfers will help me set up a beauty salon of my own where I will be able to earn some money. I have a child and want to be able to provide for him on my own and not depend on my parents after the training because they have really sacrificed a lot for us. Having my own business and being independent is my biggest dream right now and I hope that I will make it a reality as soon as I am done with my course.

I have always struggled to make ends meet but it has not been easy. The little pay and inconsistency from casual work have been very minimal to ensure I provide for my family well. When I got the news that I would be receiving this transfer from Give Directly, I decided to start a business to boost my income and sustain my family needs. As per now, I have been able to put up a retail shop which is doing well and this makes me very happy.

I would want to ensure my business is well-established and be able to open another one so that I have enough for my family and even to save.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I used to struggle to provide for my family as I was dependat on casual work which used to earn me very little pay but now I have a business which is growing well.
