How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
GiveDirectly's transfer has changed my life from grass to grace why do I say this . We used to live in a small grassed thatched house which was hardly enough to accommodate all of us comfortable. During the rainy seasons, we did not enjoy the peace that comes with having a roof over your head since that house had its roof leaking and often exposed us to the harsh climatic conditions that come with cold weather . Currently, I have a decent house and I can host my family comfortably. At time I lack words to express how my living standards have just changed for the better in an instant all because of GiveDirectly .
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion , GiveDirectly uplifted the living standards of my community and its economy . The money it issued was very impact full because it gave opportunity to the beneficiaries to acquire whatever they lacked . I do not see what GiveDirectly did wrong at its work .
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent 24,000 KES of my second transfer to buy two dairy cow . I appreciate that one of the two is calving which means an increase of livestock hence we will no longer buy milk but rather get from our own hence reduction of expenses . I bought clothes for all my family members and now on ceremonies we do represent the family decently. I bought food for my family's consumption with the remaining amount .
