What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a portion of the transfer to buy chairs. Bought cement for plastering my house. I also purchased other household items.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I now have adequate food supply from my farm. Apart from that, I no longer work for people in their farms to earn a living as it used to be.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what GD does well is that it give us cash which can be diversified by recipients to fit their needs. I think GD should organize on how to send us monthly support.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy 14 iron sheets, sand, poles, ten bags of cement, a steel door and two windows as the construction materials to construct a new house. The remaining amount was spent on buying two bags of maize for food.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that I will be able to move into a new house that is big enough and comfortable for the family. The previous house was very small and too old.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on some timber and sand (6,000 KES) in preparation for building, and also bought dry maize grain for food (3,700 KES).
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money, I experienced a level of excitement that took away all my sleep for that night so I had insomnia, and this is because I had never seen, or touched such a lot of money in my life! I knew I could begin implementing my plan, including building a new house.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I have planned to build a bigger and clean house for myself and the remaining money I will use it to set up a small business.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My proudest achievement is that I used to sell some plastics through which I was able to buy the iron roofs that I used to build my house.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship was losing all my siblings and I was left all alone,I also don't have children of my own which makes me very sad. I only take orphaned children and raise them as my own.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is when I am making ropes and I am able to sell them and make some money.
