How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before GiveDirectly gave me money, I did not have even a single cow and I was also very poor to hire anyone to help me work in my farms. However, since I received the transfers from GiveDirectly, I have bought three cows. In addition, I can afford to hire some laborers to work for me in the farm and I pay them comfortably. I thank God for GiveDirectly's financial support.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I think what GiveDirectly does well is helping its recipients directly by sending their transfer to their mobile phones hence no one can easily interfere with their money. There is nothing that I can say GiveDirectly does not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on buying three cows which I believe will help me obtain milk for domestic use thus I shall be saving the money I would have used to buy milk and instead spend it on acquiring other needs. From the three cows, I shall be able to raise a larger herd of cattle which will be my financial security in future. I also spent my second transfer on buying seeds to plant in my maize farm. Through this, I could be able to obtain more harvest and have plenty of food for my households. Lastly, I bought chairs to furnish my house because I had never possessed good chairs before. I did this to help me remember GiveDirectly whenever I come home from my normal casual jobs.
