Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four is to buy a piece of land and start horticulture farming. This project will earn me an income to meet other basic needs of the family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have built a better house for my family. We used to live in a small mud house with my family and we were not comfortable. I depend on casual jobs in the village to earn some money. The amount of money I would get was so small and I was not in a position to build a house. I am now so happy because I have a decent house. My children have privacy because they have their own room compared to before.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next four months in that I will have bought a dairy cow from the savings. This will enable me to cut the cost of buying milk daily.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that we can comfortably purchase food for us using the transfer. Give Directly transfers that we received in our household enabled me to have some financial freedom to plan for needs for coming months and I am comfortable with that.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
By early 2019, I see myself in our new house and being stable as a family. We currently live in a house that I built after school long ago. It is thatched and old because I built it in 2006 and married in 2011. Mud houses wear out fast. The new one will be of wooden walls and that is an advancement for us. I feel so light within, no stress nor anxieties of life anymore. May God Bless Give Directly and us all. Thank you for the funds.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different because had I not received the transfer from Give Directly I would still be planning to take another loan and it might have been a recurrent thing that would have taken ages to service.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I do not have new goals. I had been planning to build the house but on credit and in future. The funds really made my plans to happen faster and even freed me from taking the loan. So I am free with an achieved goal. I am currently servicing the land loan at 5000 KES monthly which I was paying 3000 KES before receiving the funds. The loan will therefore clear faster than it would had I not received the transfer from Give Directly. I have killed many birds with one stone because I will clear the loan faster, no need to take another and achieved plan of building the house. I had taken a loan of 75000 KES for the piece of land (a fifth of an acre).
