What does receiving this money mean to you?
The money will meant building a house as we are tired of sleeping in an improved temporary house. We are two in the family, myself and my wife. For us to find money, I work as a driver for a bicycle taxi. On weekly basis I make K2500 per week. The money is later used to busy household expenses such as clothes and food. With such income, I can't manage to build a house. Even if I can try, it will take me 10 years to complete it. The house that me and wife are currently living is in pathetic condition as we do not sleep properly during rain seas as it leaks alot. The roof is made of grass and we did not manage to buy a plactic cover up for the leakage. The money will be used to buy iron sheets and to pay for builders, but me and my wife we will be able to mould the bricks and I will be assisting the builder during the process.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the past 6 months there alot of things that kept me happy and that brings me joy. Firstly I married love of my life few months ago and then the coming in of Give Directly program in the village. I am confident that all my suffering has come to an end if I will receive the cash gift.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Our main Challenge that am currently facing is lack of money and support. Like I said I work as a bicycle taxi driver. On weekly basis it is a requirement for me to provide K3500 on weekly basis and they expect me to make my own salary. This at times left me with no money as currently customers are hard to find since we are many who are operating biscycle taxis in Mangochi Boma.
