My life is currently different from how it was in that I now have a bigger house at home that can accommodate several people at a go including my visitors should I go visiting at home. I am no longer worried about the hustles and bustles of seeking accommodation elsewhere.

Hopefully, I plan to start a business. After full recovery from the accident that I got while traveling back to the city, I want to make something meaningful for myself for I would not wish to continue depending on well-wishers for handouts.

I spent my entire third transfer on accomplishing my main project which was to construct a bigger house in my rural area. Before then, I used to live in a tiny house that was in bad shape. I am glad that this project succeeded because of the last transfer. Thanks to GiveDirectly, I now own my dream house.

There is a significant change in my life since I have started the pig farming project. Their gestation period is short and I will sell the pigs in future to earn an income. I have been longing to start this project but I did not have the money to do it since I depend on casual jobs and the money I get is little and could only buy food and pay rent.

My new goal is to open Mpesa shop at home. Currently my neighbors walk for a long distance to get to the nearest Mpesa shop. I will use my next transfer to start this business. This will be an additional source of income to pay school fees for my brother and also meet my basic needs.

I used my most recent transfer to buy three pigs. I decided on pig farming because their gestation period is short hence can increase in number within a short period. The mortality rate of piglets is also low hence easier to main when they give birth. This is a good investment since I will sell the pigs in future to earn an income. I also used part of my transfers to pay school fees for my brother who was joining form one. My parents could not raise all the school fees since they depend on the little income they get from casual jobs. I also bought iron sheets since I am planning to build a house at home. Currently I do not have a house and this the best time to build using part of my transfers.

I am thinking of opening a movie centre in my area with my next transfer because most residents here don't own televisions in their houses. This makes it quite a good business as people always want a place to pass time and even watch the daily news which I will provide at a cost. It however requires a huge capital and I might be forced to come up with another plan in case it does not go through.

Having a debt from a friend really stressed me especially because he was always on my neck and I had to constantly avoid him. Because we are neighbours, I had to always keep away from my house to avoid confrontations which was inconveniencing. My life is back to normal now that I have repaid the loan and I don't have to avoid him anymore.

I am yet to come up with a good business plan and to avoid squandering my transfer, I decided to invest part of it on livestock by purchasing three pigs. I will sell them once I have a plan to raise the required capital. I used the remaining amount to clear a loan I had borrowed from a friend and bought some personal items such as clothing.

I was very happy when I received the money because I had been expecting it for some time. This was because I had planned to use some of it to clear a debt I owed my friend who was constantly calling to ask when I would pay back his money.
