How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now because I have constructed an iron roofed house for the vistors. Before we got the money our visitors used to sleep in the sitting room and there was no privacy.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give me the phone, it has eased communication. There is nothing wrong with their work, all people are happy.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer for buying cement, bricks, timber and nails for completing the construction of my house. I paid builders and school fees for my son.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to put my house right.
It has very many holes that rats have created so anything can enter into the house including snakes.
I will also build a house for my children to sleep in.
As I speak, all of us sleep in the same house but this is very inconviniencing.
There is no privacy at all.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am seated with my children.
They tell me stories that make me lough.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is poverty.
I have children that are of school going age but getting money to take care of their education needs is not easy.
In most cases, I sell food crops to raise money to pay school fees.
This has always resulted into food shortage because what remains usually is less the fact that I also produce less based on the limitations of land.
