My life is currently different in that I have been able to improve my savings habits by successfully taking part in two different merry go round groups that have consequently allowed me to take loans because of the regular contributions that I get. My child's education needs have been well taken care of because I can access these findings. This has made me so happy and a proud parent with a sense of responsibility in me.

My new goal is to bring my newly constructed house to its completion. I am currently working on the floor by plastering it to help in its maintenance and to make it a better place to live in. It has taken me quite a long time to complete this house due to the scarce resources at my disposal. I am however thankful for the transfers that have always been of great help to me in bringing this house to completion.

I am also so glad that my daughter who was in school has since completed her education and secured a job. My life will have changed because I will have completed the house that has taken me so many years. I will also be having a helping hand from my daughter who also works unlike before when I used to have no one to fall back on.

My life is currently different in that I am generally a more happy woman than I was four months a go. Having an extra income of KES 2000 on top of my income is something to behold. I work as a casual laborer at a local institution and very often I felt that the amount of money I got from my work place was hardly enough to make any reasonable development. Receiving these transfers has greatly improved our lives and has also enabled me to think bigger on the kind of investments that I make.

My new additional goal for the next four months is to be able to lease a piece of land and be able to start farming. Farming is going to see us as a family produce enough food that can be of great help to the family in terms of consumption and selling of the surplus to be able to meet other family expenses. Once the production from the farm is consistent then the proceeds from farming shall be used to buy a dairy cow. These are plans that will definitely reduce the cost of living for us and make our lives more comfortable than it now is.

When I started receiving these transfers, I had a house that was under construction. It had stalled for many years due to lack of enough funds that could enable me to bring it into its completion. The little money that I got was just enough to buy food for the family while the remainder was always saved to help pay school fees for my daughter who was in college then. My daughter has cleared her education and because of this, I have been able to divert all the resources into bringing the new house to its completion. This has been the biggest difference in my daily life over the past four months.

My life shall have changed significantly in the positive direction over the next six months. By this time, I shall have leased a land and put it under cultivation. The proceeds from farming will also enable me to buy a cow and do other smaller family investments going forward.

The biggest difference in my life now is the fact that I have payed my daughter's school fees without breaking so much sweat. Before, it was really a challenge trying to apportion the little money that I had on school fees and food and ensure all sectors and needs are met. Now I am able to do that comfortably and still have some to save. I also managed to build a good latrine that helps in keeping hygienic conditions at home high. I am so happy for the developments.

There was a house I was building until I ran out of funds to finish building it. My plan is to save enough money to finish building it up.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am able to take care of my family's basic needs and still have enough to save from the little salary that I get with the substitute from Givedirectly. I am less worried on how to pay my daughter's school fees since I now pay them in installments. Before, my child could be sent home for lack of school fees hence interrupting her studies. She now studies well with less interruptions and this makes me happy.

My expectation for the near future is to first finish building the house that stalled from lack of funds. This will allow us live in a more comfortable and clean house. I am also planning to buy a dairy cow for rearing that which when it reaches calving, we will have enough milk for use at home and the extra sold for some income. I also want to ensure that we do lack food by ensuring that I improve on my farming.

I have been able to farm more than I could before Give Directly came to assist us. We also have enough food on the table and more in the farm almost ready for harvesting. I am happy because of our food security. A good harvest means I can channel money to other projects not food only.

I have a house that has stalled for a long time since 2012 because I decided to focus on my children's school fees. I look forward to completing the house within this period because my son has cleared school already.

Getting a monthly income that is unconditional is the biggest difference in my life so far. I am use to borrowing or money that needs to be paid back. With Give Directly transfers I am now able to support my children by paying school fees on time. They do not miss school they way they did before receiving this money.

I expect to have another source of income in the next six months. I plan to put up a coo and buy hens one at a time in the subsequent months. I am proud to say my living standard will be better than it is now.
