Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new or additional goals for the next four months at the moment since my only worry is how to keep myself and my family safe. This is because I do not want to contract Covid-19 disease when running my daily errands.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to fully utilize my farm. I was able to plant some potatoes after harvesting maize from my farm. This was my first time doing so since I usually leave my farm to lie idle after harvesting. Due to this, I am optimistic of a continuous supply of food for my family and income from the sale of potatoes after harvesting them.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect that life will be back to normal in the next six months. I believe that there will be no more infection of Covid-19 disease. I am hopeful that I will have resumed my bodaboda operation business fully and start some developments in my household using the little money that I will be getting.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal is to buy a goat. I believe that goats are always the easiest domestic animal to keep because they normally require less attention. Apart from that, they can also survive in any climatic condition. They also reproduce very fast therefore within a short period of time they will have multiplied and increased in number making me wealthier and financially secure.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I managed to buy a pool table. I have been saving some of my monthly transfers and within a month I bought one. I am glad to have finally managed to buy it. It will be one of my sources of income. I thank God for helping me reach this goal without getting into debt.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I feel good because I now have a different source of income. I won't entirely depend on casual jobs to earn a living. Apart from my other hassles, I will be making money from my pool table business. I will also have gotten money to buy a cow. I believe with these two projects I will never be poor.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
It is always my wish to have a healthy and happy family as the head of the family. I work hard to make sure that I bring enough food for my family and also bring in more valuable assets that will in the future help us realize the goals of giving my children a good education among others. I rely on scarce low paying casual jobs in our area to supplement the little I get from farming to provide for my family and since our farming has not been doing well due to pest and climatical changes, It has been hard for us to bring enough food hence we are always forced to spend the little income from casual jobs for daily basic needs. It is challenging to either expand or invest in other goals due to limited resources. My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I have been able to build a good house for my family that has made each one us of in the family proud of through the help of Give Directly monthly transfers. I provide for my family with ease since I have better income and I have more time to spend with my family and relax unlike before when I used to spend much of time doing casual jobs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
With the ever-rising household needs, I have a new goal in my life in the next four months of buying a cow. This will immediately reduce my daily expenditures on milk thus improve my savings and with time I will have calves from that I will sell to meet other financial needs arising in the future and to support my children education.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have had a goal of building a decent house for long but due to limited resource and ever-rising family needs, I could not build one. I majorly depend on casual jobs and farming to make ends meet in my family and since our farming has not been doing well I am always forced to spend the little I can earn from my casual jobs on my household daily expenditures leaving us with nothing to save or invest in other goals. The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is the house that I recently built. After I started receiving monthly transfers from GiveDirectly I went to a friend to borrow some money with an agreement to repay on monthly installment using my transfer from GiveDirectly. I am so grateful that I have realized a goal that had seemed impossible if it was not for GiveDirecytly thus I am a proud father now that my family has a safe decent place to call home.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to be living a better life in that I will have bought a cow hence will no longer be spending on milk like now. I expect to be saving some money for future financial needs and I expect to have leased a piece of land to help us expand my farming for better food production hence reducing expense in the future.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to build a new and bigger house. The house that I was staying in was too small and a little bit uncomfortable for us. When I started receiving this money, I borrowed a loan from a friend and constructed a whole new house. It has since been completed and my family has moved into it. We are now more comfortable than we have been in the future and my family is a happy one. Many thanks to GiveDirectly for enabling us actualize this dream.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My focus in the next six months shall be nothing short of making sure that we have a dairy cow. Currently, I am servicing a loan that helped me put up our new house. Once I am done with this, then my next focus shall be to save enough money and be able to buy a dairy cow as soon as possible. The dairy cow shall be of great help to us in that we will have milk for family consumption and earn extra income from the selling of milk produced. Money that has always been used to buy milk shall be diverted into other development projects that will help us raise more income for the family.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different in that I can now afford most of the basic needs without having to struggle as much as I used to do before I got the transfers. I used to get out of my home very early in the morning and go find any form of casual jobs to do just so that I could get enough money to put food on the table for my family. There are times when one goes a whole day without getting any casual labour to get that small income. These transfers have brought relief in that I do longer rely entirely on casual labour to get the income. It has also enabled me plan my family well and do my own farming as well.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
In the next four months, I will prioritize saving more from my transfers with an aim of getting enough money to pursue my next project. My next project shall be to have a dairy cow for the family. Currently, we are using a lot of money to buy milk for household consumption. This money could be put into other good use if we had our own dairy cow. The dairy cow shall also give us additional income when we sell the surplus milk produced and which we can use to meet other household needs.
