How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life has greatly improved since I do not have to depend on my husband too much. The household needs that are very pressing can be addressed using the money I get for the poultry project. My husband is so relied and happy that he has even offered to help me with the cost of feeding the chickens. I also have managed to start a saving habit. I save in a merry go round group and will one day be able to purchase a dairy cow. |thse tow steps in my life have changed it for the better.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My goal is to keep saving in a merry go round group and to feed my poultry using the money I receive from GiveDirectly.I will collect eggs and sell them, then use the proceeds to buy a dairy cow.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life poultry farming that I started and continue to expand using the transfers I receive form GiveDurectly. It is a very lucrative farming enterprise in our region. Four months ago, I bought 15 chicks that are now just about to start laying eggs. Since then, I have bought an additional 50 that are in various growth stages. The eggs I collect every day contributes to about Kes 1200 per week. This money helps me to save in order to buy a dairy cow. I also use this to cover the household daily needs rather than depending on my husband.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to have greatly improved because of several stable income sources. In addition to income from poultry, I will have a dairy cow that I will have acquired using the savings from transfers. I expect have made my home self reliant in terms of food acquisition and let my husband concentrate on longterm investments especially the children education.

My life is currently different in that I earn my own income from the sales of eggs and I am able to meet household needs and even support my spouse to pay school fees for our children in school. Before I could depend on my spouse completely and this was not good because he has no good job and sometimes we could not get all we wanted at that particular time. I am so grateful because I am now independent and my poultry project is running well.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have started poultry keeping projects. This project earns me an income to meet all our household needs and even some times help my spouse pay school fees for our children in primary school. Before I could depend on my spouse to provide all the basic needs by himself and this was straining him because he has no good job. Nowadays he is relaxed and he can plan his small income well by paying school fees for the children and even save some amount for other family projects. We are so grateful because our living standard has changed and all my family members are so happy. Thanks to Givedirectly family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I would have saved enough money from my poultry project to go back to college to do a medical course. I have also wanted to do that course but the main challenge was lack finance but I'm so optimistic that this plan will come to pass. After college I know I will secure a job earn a salary and support my spouse in paying school fees for our children.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I combined my transfers and that of my husband for some months and bought a water tank. We now collect and reserve enough water for domestic use. Before be bought the tank, we used to go fetching water from the river which is quite a distance and it is quite an uphill task to bring enough water for family use. I now spend the time that I initially used to make trips to and from the river to spend on more productive tasks like working on the farm.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Since we have added income I am planning to go back to school. I used to score good grades back then but dropped out of school because my parents could not afford to pay for my college fees. With my husband's support, I will do a marketable course that will guarantee me a good job. This will diversify further our source of income. This will lessen the period of meeting some of our family goals
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
When I started receiving these transfers. I opted to delve in poultry farming. I felt it was the best option because it doesn't require a lot of capital and maintaining the chicks did not require a lot of attention. Apart from that my husband is a veterinary officer, therefore, he would chip in especially advising on the best vaccines and generaly how to manage the farm. I am glad to have gone for that optons because it suplemented my income. I started a poultry project, daily income and helps in buying foo. easy to keep and spouse is vet.

My expectation in the next few months is that my poultry project would be smoothly running and expect that I will have some good returns from it. This will enable be manage the resources required in the nursing school and that of my school going children. I also expect to have an improved the lifestyle of my family, that I am able to provide adequate and healthy food my children and even extra to save.
