Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money from GD I felt very happy, I knew that so many problems in my house were going to be solved. Problems like finishing food.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving payment from GD is that I and my children are now sleeping on a comfortable bed with a mattress before this we slept on the bed but used blankets as a mattress with was not comfortable. We were not able to buy mattresses before because of lack of money .
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have spent my most recent transfer from GD on buying a mattress for me and my kids, this is because we had no mattresses in the house and we put blankets on our beds to make a mattress which was not comfortable. I also used the money to buy iron sheets so that I can build a better house for me and my five kids because our old house was small.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money is a blessing for me. I will use this money to fix my house by buying ironsheets, matress and cement. I sell tomatoes and bananas which bring very little money. With this kind of business I cannot buy all these thinks for my house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last 6 months, the thing that brought joy in my life was in December when I received my savings from village bank. Once I sell my bananas and tomatoes I save the money. I received an amount of 65,000 Malawi Kwacha. I used the money to buy maize.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Currently, my biggest challenge is that of fertilizer. At the moment everybody is very busy in the farm. I depend on subsidy program but at the moment I cannot even afford to pay for 1 bag.
