How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has greatly changed because i have managed to buy fertilizer which will help me yield more in the next growing season. This is different from the past where i used to harvest meagre due to lack of money for procuring inputs. I have also bought enough food for my family which will take us through the year and we no longer face hunger. Therefore i thank givedirectly for bringing change in my life
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
People here were in dire poverty, as you can see there are no reliable income generating activities other than farming where we also harvest less due to climate change, but now the socio economic status of this community has greatly improved with the coming of GiveDirectly. People are building beautiful houses, buying matresses, paying school fees for their children, buying food, starting small scale businesses and many more. Therefore to me Givedirectly has done a very commendable job of uplifting our socio economic welfare and i find nothing lacking
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer on 2 bags of fertilizer at MK30000 each, matress at MK30000, 8 bags of maize at MK8200 each, blanket at MK25000 kitchen utensils at MK9000, rented land for growing crops at MK60000, bought clothes for my family and saved part of it

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The program means a lot to me. I have been planning to build a house but I have been failing. This is a chance I need to utilize to build one. I also intend to buy new beddings. The remaining amount will be used to buy kitchen utensils.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am always happy when my husband is home. He is always moving up and down to find money.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge is a house. The house leaks during rainy season.
