I recently started a business with the previous transfers but currently, it's not doing so well. Most people take items on credit and they do not pay on time thus I get a hard time whenever I want to restock the business. I, therefore, have plans for saving some money so that I can boost the business by adding more stock. Although this time I won't allow people to take goods on credit until the business stabilizes.

I do not have any livestock but I have always considered them as an investment because they are so beneficial. Therefore, for the next four month, I'm planning to save some money so that I can use it to purchase goats. Since goats reproduce twice a year I know I will recover my capital within a very short period of time. I have plans of selling them in the future so that I can buy a cow. I believe the cow will enable me to start selling milk which has high demand in my neighborhood.

The biggest difference in my life ever since Give Directly came into my life is that I am now financially stable. Previously, I relied on casual work as the main source of income which was not enough to settle most of my expenses. I could only afford to buy food out of the wages I got from these jobs. It used to be hand to mouth type of life. This made life so difficult because I had other necessities but didn't have enough money. I'm glad this is not the case anymore because I opened up a business with the previous transfers. There is hope for the business to grow and I can't wait to officially stop doing casual jobs.

My life has improved as compared to how it was four months ago. I was able to start up a business which has really boosted me financially and through the business, I have been able to meet most of the family's needs without straining or borrowing from friends. In addition to that, the monthly money continues to support me even after using some of it to open a business. It has been of great help. It's an additional income and through it, I would say that my living standards have improved a lot.

Currently, I do not do tedious casual work to earn income for my family which could not sustain us properly. I saved some transfers over a few months and started a business which we now rely on for provision for my family. I started a business which generates my family more income. My children can go to school easily as I pay the fees on time. We can eat healthily hence more energy.

I want to save more and buy livestock for rearing which I plan to sell/use when I have financial constraints.

The huge difference in my life since I started receiving the transfer, is that I ventured into large scale farming. I leased a farm as I had only one small piece of land and paid casual labourers to till my farm. I used to till the farms by myself and that meant minimal harvests but when I received the first transfer, I started saving towards leasing a farm to expand my farming into larger scales. I can afford to pay casual labourers to work on my farm. I now have plenty of farm produce that I can consume and sell the surplus to earn my income for the family.

I plan to save and invest more in my business so that it can generate more income to improve my family's standard of living. I also want to save towards paying school fees for my children who are doing their final year in primary so that when they pass I can easily admit them in high schools.

Apart from having food on the table always, I have a business now. The little I do get from GD every month, I have always saved part of it which I used to start sardines business here in the village. I have not gotten to a point where I do go and sell in the market because of my stock which is not much. This has really helped in solving daily house needs and it is the reason why I no longer go for casual work. The profit is not much but has kept my family going. I don't beg too and no more debts in my life. I will use the business to develop my life and make it the best I can. Before receiving the transfers, I could not get quality medication because I did not have enough money to cater for that. This is one of the reasons why my children's health got worse. In as much as it is not a daily occurrence, I have been able to give my children's best health care according to the standard in my area which has really contributed to their productivity both at home and in school.

My new goal is to buy atleast a sheep. In my village, livestock is a good investment and any family without any kind of livestock is considered very poor. Since GD came and brought light to my life, I would not want to remain the same as I was before the transfers. This is why I want to buy a sheep to use as remembrance of GD and as an investment for my family. I believe when it gives birth, it will help me leave inheritance for my family too.

The biggest difference in my life since I started receiving this transfer is that I have always had three meals a day. Before the transfers, I used to struggled to provide food for my family. Income from the casual work was not consistent enough to even provide for two meals a day. My children's health condition went from bad to worse due to lack of food and they have had to go and beg for food from my neighbours. When I received the first transfer, I made my family a good meal which we have never had in years. From then, I have always ensured we have food on the table and my family is generally happy. Right now they are very healthy with the little we always have.

In the next six months, I want to invest more in my sardines business. I would not only sell in the nearby markets but also sell in bigger markets because I will be able to maximise on the profit. The profits will help me in paying school fees, clothing and feeding my family and finally take me into a higher standard in life. I would not want to go back to where GD found me. As they have shown me the way, I would want to keep working hard and give the best to my family.

Currently,I am able to provide for my family and the hungry-night episodes have really reduced. I used to earn very little money which could not sustain my family especially the meals.

I would like to open a grocery shop using the next few transfers so that I can have an easier way of earning that will be an alternative to hard labor jobs because my health is really deteriorating.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that we can now afford all the three meals a day, almost daily unlike before when we only ate once a day.

After starting that business,I will relax a bit because I will take break from hard labor jobs which will also greatly affect my life positively.
