How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
What I hope to accomplish in the next year or more is to see my house to a finished level. Once my house is completed, I will be free and gain respect in the town. I will also be happy to invite my family to come and visit me and we can happily, freely, and comfortably sleep at night even when it rains.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has made me to be a man to own a zinc house, that is the good thing they have done for me. They have helped many people like myself to educate our children and give them a better future. They have brought unity to our town because we do not make confusion anymore. What I think they could do better is accepting small things like coconut water, fruits, and just anything that is not too big as a "thank you" from us. But they do not accept anything at all and this makes some of us to feel bad. Eventhough they have explained to us why they don't take things from us, but I still feel they should accept little gifts.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I've planned to use my third transfer on processing planks for my new house project. I will wait for the 4th transfer before I start the process because I don't want to spend transportation twice. I am currently living in a thatch house which leaks every time it rains. This causes me so much embarrassment like sleeping on a wet bed and everywhere else being muddy. I cannot host stranger in house and that brings shame to my name. Having this house will bring me respect.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was on my way to the farm when my phone beep at the network point. Upon checking it out, I realised it was my transfer. I was happy and decided to abort my trip to the farm. I returned home and shared the news with my wife and were happy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The difference is that my children and my family are going to have a new house of their own in Fish Town.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought land in Fish Town. I have lived my entire life in Jelipo and my children are in Fish Town and I am paying rent gor them. I think by building a house there in Fish Town will cut down my expenses.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My wife and I didn't go to school, many at time we feel bad when we see some of our peers who are educated doing well. If I am eligible to benefit from this cash transfer, I will send my children to school. This will help to better their future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My wife was pregnant, and she needed to undergo surgery, it was so complicated, but as God could have it, she came through successfully.
Secondly, all of our children made a successful pass in school this year.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The Public School that is in the town isn't active, our children have to go Fish Town ( County's Capital), to attend school. Getting money to pay the kids school fees is a major challenge.
