How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months in that I have been using my transfer to hire people to help me with the farm work, to buy fertilizer and hybrid seeds. I was surprised during the recent harvesting season, I got five sacks of maize which had never happened before, I used to get a maximum of one and a half to two sacks of maize. I feel happier and encouraged to work even harder next season. I have enough food to take me to the next season and I have a surplus for sale to get money to support my family. We are eating well and enough unlike before when food was scarce. I have noticed the importance of a proper family. All this is because of GiveDirectly and I say a big thank you may God bless the hands that help us out of poverty.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am thinking of buying a goat for rearing as future financial security. I thought of goat rearing because our weather is favorable and they are also easy to manage. I have also been thinking of what to invest my future transfers on that can earn me some money in the future when I have a financial crisis. I love goats simply because they multiply very fast and at times give birth to twins and even triplets depending on the breed. I thank Give Directly for having capacity built us by giving us money to develop us.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The floor of my house is now clean and dustless, this encouraged me to buy seat covers which makes my house look more appealing. I feel happy and proud because my house looks decent and neat compared to before when my walls and floor were made of mud. It was always dusty and dirty no matter how often I clean it. I no longer shy off from visitors, I can invite anyone to come and visit me because of the tremendous work I have done using my transfers from Give Directly. I have been saving my monthly transfer until I managed to buy plastering materials that I used to plaster my house and this is the biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer. In our place, I used to walk for a long distance to look for a special clay for smearing because we lack that in our area but which is not the case now. I thank Give Directly for having rescued us from this tiresome work. The floor of my house is now clean and dustless, this encouraged me to buy seat covers that I use to cover my seats every day after mopping my house. I feel happy and proud because my house is smart and neat compared to before, it was dusty and dirty no matter I could try to clean it. I would wish the whole village to come and visit me because of the tremendous work I have done using my transfers from giving Directly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
As I said before, I love goats because they are manageable and they multiply very fast and in large numbers depending on the breed. I am optimistic that in the next six months I would be having goats that will give me milk both for commercial and domestic use, in fact, goat milk is very nutritious and expensive. I know I 'll have an additional source of income that will enable me to provide for my family the basic needs with a lot of ease, and also invest some money in farming.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Apart from being healthier after seeking better medical attention, I have also been able to purchase new bedding. I have had old ones that were already worn out and not in a good condition. Sometimes I could feel the cold when sleeping and that was enough to tell me to replace the bedding. Through these transfers, I have been able to purchase new bedding and I no longer feel the cold when sleeping and my sleep has become more comfortable and relaxed too.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My current house is not in good condition. The roof is currently rusty and may start leaking any time, so I want to avoid this before the rains start, I want to purchase new iron sheets and replace the old ones that have served me for over ten years now. The house has stayed that long without renovation or even repairs. The roofs need some change now to avoid any harm that may arise due to the ware out. This is my main goal in the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now feeling well. At least I have been able to afford better health care through the money I am receiving from GiveDirectly. Back then, accessing better health care was a challenge as the menial income I got from the odd jobs I do could not allow me to seek better medical attention, at the same time maintain a comfortable life at home. I feel healthier and stronger and also able to do most of my work without having to depend on others for support in the name of being sick. This is the biggest daily difference I can talk about.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I will have my ox plough. I will no longer have to hire from neighbors which have always been so expensive for me. The money that I have been using for the hiring, I will now channel to other developments I have in plan, and me too, I will now target those who do not have, hire out to them and make money. From the profits, my lifestyle will change to be more comfortable and my farm work shall have been made easier.
