How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I was able to start livestock rearing which will provide me with milk supply and reduce the burden of buying milk every day. In addition, I was able to construct a decent house. The one I had earlier was in a low place where water could enter during the rain season. Furthermore, I am sleeping on a comfortable bed after purchasing one something that has reclaimed back my happiness I have lost for years.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I thank GiveDirectly for the aid that has transformed my life for the better.I was able to construct a new house and I am now sleeping on a comfortable bed. I don't see anything that the organization does not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent $60 to purchase a bed because I was sleeping on floor. I was always feeling back pain immediately after waking up which affected my days work performance . I also spent $150 to purchase indigenous dairy cow which will provide a constant milk supply for family use. Previously, I was purchase milk every day which is relatively expensive for me. I also bought a solar lamp for lighting my house at night and a door for the house because I did have one which was risk especially at night. The remaining amount assisted me in purchasing food for the family because we did not get enough harvest from the farm.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I remember receiving a message in my phone in the morning. I called my helper who normally reads the messages for me. He broke the news to me that my first transfer had finally been sent. I could not hold back the excitement that I felt now that I would be able to build a decent house to live.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before receiving the financial support from GiveDirectly, I did not have a house of my own. I was sheltering in my grandchild's house. I longed to build my own house but due to my lowly financial status, I could not afford to save enough for this. However, when I received my first transfer, my dream was fulfilled because I am currently living in my newly constructed, decent and iron roofed house. I am having my own house now and its the biggest difference in my daily life so far. I could be still living in my grandchild's house had I not received the transfer.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent a bigger portion of my first transfer on building a new iron roofed house. I did not have a house of my own . It collapsed many years and since I was not financially stable, I was forced to take shelter in my grandchild's house. I am happy to live in my own house where I can enjoy privacy. I spent the little amount that remained on buying daily foodstuffs for my family and other household items.
