How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is much better after receiving the transfer since I am now able to meet all the demands of my clients since my shop is well stocked. Also, I am more prepared to handle any uncertainties because I have some savings (amounting 120USD).
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by enrolling all the legit and needy households in the village. The organization does not discriminate against anyone. So, I find nothing that GiveDirectly does not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used 430 USD of my second transfer on buying more stock for my shop since I used to deplete my stock before meeting my clients' demands. I saved 120 USD for any emergencies, for instance, restocking my shop when necessary.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 3pm when I switched on my phone because I had left it on charge when I saw the GiveDirectly Mpesa confirmation. I was very happy because I knew my dreams of expanding my businesses had come true.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is increment of my shop and maize stock which has led to more profit. Initially, I had desired to increase my maize stock four months before GiveDirectly visited but God answered my prayers. Initially, I had a KES 30, 000 maize stock which would be depleted within four days but after additional stock I can hold the stock for two weeks. Now, I am a bit relaxed because my customers are happy and their numbers have increased because I can their needs. This has motivated me to work harder in order to start another poultry project in order to increase my income sources.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent KES 15000 on increasing my shop stock because it's my main income source. Initially I had a KES 30,000 shop stock but now I have a KES 50000 stock. I also spent KES 25000 on additional maize stock for maize selling business because maize is a fast moving consumer good in my area. I also spent KES 3000 on latest clothing fashion and saved the rest for emergencies.
