Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I can still recall I was admitted to the hospital when I heard my phone ringing so loudly even I was scared in the first place. I asked my sister who was with me to check who it could be. After checking, she realized that it was aa Mpesa message from SEGOVIA TECHNOLOGY. I was overwhelmed with joy and I even felt I had fully recovered. I will forever be grateful to GiveDirectly for this great support into my life
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
A lot has happened ever since I received the financial support, but I now own goats makes the biggest difference in my daily life. Goats are the best living assets that one can lean on in case of any financial difficulty simply because, they reproduce faster and their offsprings mature very fast compared to the other domestic animals. Therefore I opted to buy them because, since I am illiterate and I value education the most these will facilitate my children's education. As time goes by, they will multiply and maybe by then my children will be transitioning to secondary school, this is when I will sell the same and send them to school. Also apart from, that, I can now be able to start some other projects through them by selling some of the offsprings.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my first transfer on buying some buying materials such as two pies of iron sheets, building poles, nails, timber, and threads. I purchased all these with an intention to construct a new house because the previous one had a leaky roof and very small, some of my family members had to seek shelter from friends. I also purchased three goats at a total of KES 9000. I also bought new school uniforms fr my children and already their fees as well. With the remaining amount, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means enough water supply for my family. I'm planning to use 50 dollars to purchase a bicycle for my family. The bicycle will aid in fetching enough water for domestic consumption. I'm planning to use a further 50 dollars to construct a two bedroom house. The two bedroom house is spacious and will serve my family better. In addition to this, am planning to use 180 dollars to buy six goats for domestic rearing. I'll later sale the goats to cater for my children school fees. I'll use the balance to buy enough food for my family. Doing this will give me the peace I have always desired to have.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon. During the afternoon, am alone and this makes me happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship in my life is shortage of water for domestic consumption. I'm forced to travel a long distance to get water.
