Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I have a new goal of leasing in a plot where I will do farming. I plan to use my transfers to buy hybrid seeds and fertilizer which I will use on the plot. I know at the end of the season, I will have a good harvest that will not only help me feed my family but will also help me raise an extra income to meet other needs of the family when I sell part of my transfers.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My son who has joined secondary school in full school uniform and with all the requirements he was needed with when joining. This is a miracle to me because, in the past, they have never had all the requirements. I could not be able to provide for all the school needs since I had low income from casual work which was my main source of income. My children would go to school with unofficial shoes because I was not able to buy them the required shoes. I pleaded with the teachers and they allowed them in school hoping I will get required ones but I never did. With GD transfers, I have been able to clear fees arrears for my children in time and now that my son joined secondary with all the requirements in time, I see a miracle in my life. I thank God for GD transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I plan to use my transfers to clear school fees arrears for my children in school. I will always pay their fees bit by bit on a monthly basis as I receive my transfers so that before the year ends, I will have cleared this year's arrears. Nothing will make my life so peaceful when my children are in school studying in peace because I was able to clear their arrears in time. I will do all I can even if it means topping up with part of my harvest, I will do so.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
With the harvest that just took place, I have enough cereals(Maize and beans)therefore most of my transfers can now be channelled towards buying other basic needs for my children. Thanks to Give Directly my children now dress better than most kids in the village, which makes me very proud as a mother.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In our previous conversation, I mentioned that I would wish to venture into amaranth farming due to its good market value so that I can raise enough money to admit my son who will soon sit for the final examinations into high school next year. I am yet to do that, and I plan to do it this farming season. This is because last farming season, I focused on maize farming so that we do not have to buy the precious commodity which has since become quite expensive. With the comfort of knowing that I have enough maize to last me an entire year, I can now take the risk of investing in amaranth farming.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, I had an easier life compared to the previous months because I was able to hire labourers to assist in my weeding my farm. Earlier, this was impossible due to low income and I had to toll in the farm on my own which was quite tiresome considering that I also have young kids to tend to. Being able to hire labourers to assist on the farm also ensured that all my farms were weeded in good time which greatly impacted my general harvest. I received a much better harvest compared to the previous harvesting seasons and I am glad that my family will stay away from starvation for many months to come.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
With the farming plans I have in mind, I hope that I will have raised enough money in the next six months to enable me to enrol my son into a good secondary school next year. As it is now, I have no savings set aside and I am fully relying on this project to have a positive income so that I will not have to resort to last-minute rush in an effort to try and raise the money for his school fees and other school requirements when the time for his admission comes.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
This season, I was able to farm a bigger portion of my farm that I have ever done before, courtesy of GD transfers which enabled me to hire a tractor to till the land. Previously, I could only manage to farm a small section of the farm which I could manage to till with my bare hands because I could not manage to hire a tractor or even the common oxen owners due to lack of funds. This season I have hopes of getting the biggest harvest I have ever gotten. My children's lives have also changed a lot these days because I have been able to buy them better clothes and they dress much better than before.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
A friend of mine recently introduced me to amaranthus farming which she says has a ready market and very profitable. I want to use my next transfers to venture into amaranthus farming so that I can raise enough money to facilitate my dowry payment which is my biggest desire. Ever since we got married several years ago, my husband has never had the opportunity to visit my parents or pay any form of dowry as tradition demands. I hope this project will be as good as it sounds so that we can pay the dowry as soon as possible.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My children have been so fortunate lately because I have managed to buy them new school uniforms and they look quite happy going to school in decent clothes. A while back, buying my children new clothes and uniforms was a very rare thing and many at times, they wet to school in either torn or patched uniforms which were very embarrassing. I am happy because with the assurance of receiving these transfers each month, I can replace a torn uniform for my child even in the middle of the month on credit and pay whenever I receive my transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I hope that I will have sold the amaranthus I am currently planning to plant and raised the money to be used in my dowry payments. The dowry payment has been troubling me for quite a long time now and I hope to complete it soon so that I can focus on other development projects.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was in that, my children and I dress well and also eat well. Previously, I used to depend on substantial farming, this could not last us for long. I had to look for other options of how to earn income in order to settle other expenses. I could till the land by myself hence less produce . Today, I can afford to buy the modern farm inputs which I could not afford before with the monthly payment which I get from GiveDirectly. This allows me to get lots of yields which my family has been able to enjoy. I have also been able to sell some of these farm produce. The income I get from the sells normally helps me to take care of my other pressing needs .
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have new goals at the moment. I still want to concentrate in farming because I have a big piece of fertile land. I believe I can get a lot of profit if I use the correct farm inputs and cultivate the land at the right time. Now that I get payments from GiveDirectly, I will afford to hire people that will help me in preparing my farm. This will guarantee enough food and sell the rest in order to earn income
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now a confident person who is able to take care of her needs easily. Like recently I hired someone to help me till my piece of land in preparation of the next planting season. I used to do the whole work by myself and this was hectic. I could only dig a small area because I was working alone with no one to assist me. This round I managed to prepare a larger piece of land and I am sure of getting more yields.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I will have plenty of food. I am planning to invest so much in farming. I will buy hybrid seeds and use conventional methods of farming. This I believe will ensure I get great farm produce. When I get more produce I will be in a potion to sell some of this product and start buying building materials. I have been living in a house which is in a bad condition but I believe by investing in my farm I will achieve most of my goals including building a decent house.
