In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Through the cash donations from give directly, my life has been transformed. I now have somewhere I can get funds to pay for my school fees and support my family too. So, to me there's nowhere give directly has not done well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am a form two student and I have always been in need of funds to support my education. Especially now, when my father lost his job as a handyman at a construction site. Supporting my siblings and I has been quite challenging for him. So, when I started receiving the funds, it boosted our finances. Using my first transfer, I bought food and some personal essentials. With my second transfer, I cleared my school fee arrears of 2000. The remaining KES1,000, I split equally and used on the food budget and I bought clothes for both my brother and I.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so nice and happiness was all over my face. I felt like achieving a lot of goals at a young age. I would like to start a chicken business with the little money i'll save from the transfer. Also help my parents in paying my school fees.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
It would have been difficult. I would not have gotten the money to pay for the tuition fees or even buy pads.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Receiving this money from GiveDirectly has been of great help to me and my family. I am still a student and through these transfers, I am able to buy my own school shopping and when share with my siblings. From the transfer of KES. 1200 I received, I took Kes. 1000 to pay for my school tuition fees. And bought sanitary towels with the remaining Kes. 200 which I later divided to my sister. I currently in form two and we are six children in our family. That comprises four girls and two boys. My mother is a farmer while my father is a casual labourer, dealing with house construction.
