How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference that the transfers have brought in my life over the period that I have been receiving them is that I have managed to take a course in food and beverage production. I am certain that this would not have been possible if I had not received the transfers because, for a long time, I had wanted to take the course but could not manage to raise the required school fees. I have now completed the course and will soon benefit from it through a job or opening my own business. The transfers have also enabled me to support my mother with the household needs and other financial obligations that I could not manage to do before the project due to low income. I am also glad that I have been able to pay for my child's school fees on time and bought him all the school supplies he needs without any difficulties.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
I just completed a course I have been taking in food and beverage production for the past six months. The initial plan I had was to start a hotel business using my transfers, but I did not want to go blindly into the business without having proper knowledge on how to prepare good meals that would put me above the rest in the business. Now that I have completed the first phase of the plan, I need to move to the next which is opening the hotel. I solely rely on these transfers to set up the business so I need to save them for a few months before I can make a move.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I decided to give my mother a rest from worrying about the household supplies which I used most of my transfers to purchase. I spent the rest of the money I had left on school supplies for my child in kindergarten. These items included a lunchbox, books, pens and a new school bag.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it was in that, I spend my time well. I was able to take a course in food and beverage courtesy of GiveDirectly's transfer. I could have been idling at home. I am almost done with the course. I am doing my attachment and hoping to open a hotel later on .
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
My new goal is to operate a hotel. I love this business because I am studying a course on food and beverages that will help me to run my business well. I know that this business will do well and will help me to carter for my upkeep.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my transfer on paying school fees for my child who had fee arrears. I have cleared the whole amount for this year, I did not want her report card to be held back in school. I am glad that she came home with her report card and did will not have a hard time with the teachers. I used some on food and transport to my attachment place.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
After completing high school a few years ago, I was unable to further my studies due to low income from my parents which forced me to stay home. With too much time on my hands, I hung around irresponsible and idle peers which led to my having a baby in my teenage years. This made it even worse as my parent was very mad and disappointed and cancelled every little plan she ever had of furthering my education. I had to accept my fate and even considered marriage a number of times but, thankfully, GD came to my rescue and gave me an opportunity to take a course in catering which I know will earn me a decent living and enough money to support my family. I would not have been able to take the course if it were not for GD because I am sure my mother would not have paid for the course owing to her little income.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
I decided to take a course on catering which I paid for using these transfers. The course ended last month and I am still waiting for my certificate to come out before I can start applying for any catering jobs. As I await the release of the certificate, I will not be idle, therefore, I have decided to start second-hand clothes business using my transfers so that I can be able to support my mother financially in taking care of the household requirements and any other financial needs.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used part of the money I received recently to clear school fees for my daughter in kindergarten as she had some arrears from last term and I was afraid she would soon be sent away from school due to delayed fee payments. I have not yet spent the rest of the money which I decided to save in my bank account for my future business plans.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
This money will first of all help in buying food for my family since I live with my mother and grandmother and most times getting money for food has been a problem and yet Food is a basic human requirement.I will also use this money to pay our house rent since we do have rent arrears and with the money I will pay even advance. I will later use the other portion to invest in a new business of selling clothes here in the Local market since it has good profit.
Describe your biggest worry.
My most worry is always about my young child that I always have to provide for in terms of school needs and my family in general since I stay with my grandmother and mother in the same house. I also do worry about unemployment since I still have no job and getting one has been a problem to me therefore making it hard for me to provide for my family. I also do worry about getting Food and meeting daily needs since we are from poor background and getting food is a problem to us.
What are your greatest ambitions?
To achieve my goals of doing catering since it has been my passion for a long time. I would also like to be in a position to help the poor by giving them food and at times visit them in the children's home since I was once in ABC Children Home where I also studied my primary and secondary education.
Describe your usual day. How do you spend your time?
In my usual day I do help with house chores and after that helps my grandmother in feeding and taking care of our chicken. While in my free time I do hang out with friends, I also helps with doing laundry and at times just rest at house. I also go to church on Sunday and after that relax with my family and relatives.
