Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so much happy the moment I received money from GiveDirectly. I had had sleepless nights for quite a long time thinking of how I was going to raise enough money to pay school fees for my children until GiveDirectly came to my rescue. This for once gave me a lot of peace in my mind and made me feel so happy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life that has come about as a result of these transfers is the peace of mind that I have had. I now sleep very well like a baby a sign that I am living a stress free life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used part of my first transfer to pay school fees for my children and used the remaider to fence the compound and buy food and other basic needs for my family. The money came at a time that I had ran out of milk supply that had always enabled me to buy pay school fee for my children by supplying it in school. It is through GiveDirectly that I was able to pay a whole year's school fee in time to keep my children in school all year round.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means my children will have quality education. My intention has always been to educate my children through university and realise their dreams. I have two children who are in secondary school yet I have been struggling to raise their school fees single handedly. I am glad now that I will be able to clear their school fees for using the transfer from Give Directly.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my is in the morning. Waking up healthy and seeing my family happy is the joy of my life. I normally wake up at around 6am and start preparing breakfast for my school going children after which I attend to my dairy cows by feeding them until around 11am. From there, I start my domestic chores such preparing food and washing utensils. In the afternoon, I go herding until late in the evening.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Since the demise of my husband in the year 2012, life has never been the same. My husband used to be the sole provider in our family and when he died, I had to step up to fend for my family. Even though I rear livestock and grow crops, its produce is hardly enough to cater for the entire family needs since I plant maize in an acre of land and rear two dairy cows which produces 10 litres of milk. Therefore, raising money for both school fees and domestic use is the biggest hardship in life.
