How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Rosetta, before GD came, I planned to build a house of my own but could not be realized due to lock of funding. My entire life had been farming and my farming have not yield any positive result, even products sales could not start a house. I was enrolled as a recipient on the GD program and received my first, second and third transfers. With the first, second and third transfers, I can now start to build a house of my own.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I want to take this time to say a very big thanks to Give Directly for services rendered us during the entire enrollment process was very transparent. You did a great and excellent job.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to buy four (4) bundles of zinc and paid people to cut the Sticks and saw planks for the building of my house. I was also able to buy food and paid my children school fees with out stress.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"We normally sell crops from our farm to sustain our family but of recent my husband and I have decided to send our children to a good school but there has always been some fianiacial challenges we been face with. With the cash transfer from Give Directly, my and I will send our six children to a very good private school so their elementary foundation be well build, Send some to my other son who is presently living with my aunty, and used the remaining money to build a three bed decent house for our children's future."
What is the happiest part of your day?
My first son is living with my aunty in Harper (Maryland county) for nine years and there's not a day I won't receive a complaint on him being misbehaving. In this year, I got a call from my aunty saying he's no longer that bad child he used to be. Since he made a promised to his aunty on his birthday July 9 that he will not do those things he used to do like going out with some bad friends, staying out of school, drinking alcohol and etc that is the greatest joy ever for me ."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The current challenges I'm face is in sending my children to school to a better school. Everytime I see other children coming from school and seeing mine only into farm work it breaks me down. Our parent were unable to send us to school so we ended up going into high farm work. I will be so excited seeimg my coming out of high school one of these days".
