How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than if I had not received this cash transfer in that, my living standard had improved. Before, I used to sleep in a two inch mattress.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has done well by supporting poor people through unconditional cash transfer. I do not see what they had not done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When I reeived my cash transfer worth 815,000ugx, I paid off a debt of 360,000ugx which I had borrowed for treatment. I paid another debt of 250,000ugx that was borrowed by my father. I then bought four saucepans at 45,000ugx, transport costed 26,000ugx, I repaired my radio at 50,000ugx. I started a small scale business of 50,000ugx and the balance of 34,000ugx, I used for feeding.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in daily life is that I now sleep well on a good bed, am happy and through the business I started am able to get some profit which is developing my family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer I felt happy because this money was going to improve my life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for buying household items (bed, mattress, curtains, bedsheets).I also bought a Music system at 1,160,000ugx and started bussines of selling waragi. The balance am spending on food.

The happiest part of my day is in the morning hours when I have woken up in good health condition and everyone in my family are healthier

The biggest hardship I face in my life is lack of enough farm land which has limited my capabilities to succeed in terms of getting money to support my family's basic needs
