How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I don't have any new goal. I am directing all the transfer to my new house project and the payment of my children's school fees. I am constructing to ease the stress associated with house especially for me who have six children and we all can't fit in the two rooms.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly is doing well because they gave us money to help ourselves. In fact, if it wasn't Givedirectly, not of my children could attend this year so I am greatful to GiveDirectly.

I contracted people to help with the building process and used the money the paid them. I also use part of the transfer to purchase enough building materials plus the payment of my three children school fees.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was too happy when I received this money. My happiness derived from so many things. I have been doing a little business for so many years but there has been no improvement. My capital was very small to the extent that I couldn't get enough profits to sustain my family and I. Now that I have received this money, I'm going to top up my business.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
There are some improvement in my life since I received this money. I have paid my children school fees for the semester which I have not done before. Unlike before, I used pay only registration fees and the tuition will be paid by installment. I'm going to have a large business soon. Many thanks to GiveDirectly for this timely gift.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The recent money I received, I paid three of my children school fees for the first semester. I bought new goods with some of the money and added it to my previous business. I also have some in save keeping for future use.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I live in a house where all of my children are also sleeping and that makes me not to have the kind of privacy that I need. They sometimes sleep across the road and I don't feel good about it. So with the cash transfer, I plan to build a house. I don't want them to suffer in the future. One of the main reasons why I want to build a house is that I want my children to also have a feeling of what I am going to benefit from GiveDirectly. Another thing I am planning to do with the transfer is to start a business. I know that making business in this town will give me a lot of profit. The profit from the business will also be used to send my children to school. I want to do these two things because I want my kids to also feel a taste of the grant that I gotten from GiveDirectly and to also appreciate GiveDirectly for their humanitarian effort given to me because it will sponsor them through school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
At some point in time, husband learned how to drive but since then, he has never had a job before except for being in this town and helping me to making coal. Just recently, the Representative of this district promised him that she was going to provide a job for him. I don't know the type of job she wants to offer him but by just hearing the news about him getting a job, I was very happy. I don't know how to explain how I felt that day but I was very happy. I am looking to God for that favor and also the Representative to provide that job for him, so that I can rejoice more than what I have done.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Every year we make farm and the process of making a farm is a very hardwork. I have younger children and they help me and my husband to make the farm and burn coal to sell so that we can get food to eat. This has been a very challenging situation I have been faced with for a long time. Another challenge I am also faced with is making coal. Making coal is a hard thing because I have small children. Even the process of collecting the sticks on the farm to make the coal bed is very difficult for me and my children. At certain times, they have to stay on the farm taking care of the coal bed for me to return home and get something fixed for us to eat. This is something that is dangerous for me especially when I have to leave my children in the forest to come and fend food for them. It is a tough decision but I have to take it almost everyday.
