How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Hope to be financially stable, supporting his family to meet basic needs
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD giving out cash is far much better than giving tangible goods because with cash, they have a choice of buying their own items GD leaving out people who were not at home when GD staff first came to village and carried out mapping is not good, some go to Kenya to hustle, when they hear that GD has visited their village, they try to rush and come back but are not included in the program

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
The first thing I want to do is re-open up my retail business which requires about $ 429 so that I can ensure a constant source of income for my family members. I also want to purchase a fresian cow to supply me with milk that I can sell and also give to my family to take. The cow goes for about $ 571. Then am also planning on adding on money from the business to the balance and purchase some land near bubita Market which can go for about $ 1142 as it is not affected by water.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Ripening of my coffee since I can now pay up all the school fees for my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Water just comes out of the edge of my compound. I also got very sick in August that I was diagonised with typhoid and malaria and admitted for three days. I was very worried as am the guardian of my home since there mother left to go to Kenya. Also my business collapsed due to lack of capital. It was a small retail business for basics like soap and sugar and some other necessities.
