I have been feeling upbeat ever since I began investing in livestock because I feel encouraged by how quickly they are growing. This is a guarantee that I won't have to struggle to support my family because there are ready markets for goats. Based on that, if I obtain some money, I intend to add more goats.

Investing in livestock has been my desire for a while. Besides the goats which I already had, I used $118 from the second transfer to buy three additional goats. I opted to invest more in goats because they are cheaper compared to cows and they have ready markets. After that, I paid $50 school fees for my two primary school children so that they could be retained in school for better learning. I also decided to construct a house for my son. I bought him 14 pieces of iron sheets for $112, and some roofing timbers. For the building poles and rafters, he went by himself to the forest to cut to minimize the cost. Currently, the house is completed and he is happy in his house. I also bought some food since it was a tough time for us as a family and my vegetable vending business could not meet the family's needs.

I was just relaxing with my friends at around 9 AM when I received a call from my helper informing me to check my phone since he was suspecting that my cash transfer had been sent. A few moments later I decided to check only to realize that it was true. I was overjoyed with happiness and without wasting time I called all my family members so that we can plan appropriately on what to purchase.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I was able to send my children to school. They have been staying home for almost three weeks because of the arrears. I was so worried that they would again miss an exam for the second time. My dream was to see all my kids get better grades and prosper in life since I never had the chance to go to school. I had however hopeless since my spouse is jobless and I had to take his role which has never been easy at all. As a mother, I am so grateful to see my kids going to school every morning like the rest which is a sign of a promising future.

I spent part of my first transfer on buying a few building materials which include iron sheets, timber, nails and poles a total of KES 20000 and the labour charges of KES 3000. This was for the construction of a new house for my son who has been sleeping at his friend's house since mine was very small. Later on, I paid school fees for my two children who have been home for quite some time. I am glad they are now continuing with their studies without any hiccups. Apart from that, I boosted my business( selling vegetables) which I have been operating but it has been deteriorating day by day. With the remaining amount of money, I bought furniture and plenty of foodstuffs for my family.
