How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have no new goals I am completing my previous plan to build a house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I want to, first of all, tell Givedirectly thank you, things were not easy for me as a woman, my husband I depend on to be the breadwinner for the family finding it difficult to feed the family, he does hunting, and farming but the income generated from these activities can not take care of the family need nor think about building a house but through this transfer program, I can build a house and sent our children to school. Givedirectly has not done any wrong in my community.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
The place I am currently living is not my own house, it belongs to my brother in law. I have been living in here for five unbroken years now, though, he is not asking me to leave. We are expecting to construction work along this road to start soon, and this how is among houses that are to be demolished as the result, my brother in law will also be finding area for his family to relocate and he will no do same for us. So, if I am eligible for this grant that GiveDirectly has come to transfer, I will buy zinc to build my own house so my household can move before the road work commence.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Usually, we buy rice to eat during the rainy season until our farms are ready for harvest, it is the most difficult time ever in the live on people living in this part of Liberia because no cargo trucks can easily come in as the result of bad road. In September of 2021, I started harvesting rice from my farm and this brought me the most joy because our food purchasing dropped completely and other was no hope for survival if we have gone beyond that time.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My main challenge now is finance, we need cash to enable us purchase materials to build our own house. Currently, my spouse is a hunter and at the same time working on the farm. With government coming out with restrictions on the killing of wild animals, I are worried that generating income will now be difficult for my household. The animals are now difficult to track down because there are so many hunting chasing fewer animals. A dear cost little over 5000LD and it takes my spouse 3 to 4 weeks to kill a dear.
