How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to buy an ox for ploughing hence I no longer practice labour exchange with my neighbours which was time-consuming. I am glad that I have been able to cultivate a bigger parcel of land unlike before when I used to cultivate my farm by hands or do labour exchange, as a result, the yields were little because I could complete cultivating my farm late. For instants, I had to work on my neighbours' farm as well to get money and buy my farm inputs such as seeds. Therefore, I am certain of enough yields at the end of this harvest to feed my family and sell part of it for an extra income.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by giving transfers directly on recipient's phone without involving intermediaries that enhance all eligible recipients gets the money with just and also they educated recipients on security measures which have prevented loss of their transfers. I personally do not see what GiveDirectly doesn't do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on buying an ox to plough and cultivate my farm and also get an extra income through cultivating my neighbours' farms at a fee as well. I have been able to cultivate a bigger parcel of land unlike before when I used to cultivate my farm by hand. Previously, the yields were little because I completed the cultivation late as I had to work on my neighbours' farm as well to get money and buy inputs such as seeds. Therefore, I am certain of enough yields at the end of this harvest to feed my family. The remaining amount I spent on paying masonry who has assisted me to build my kitchen and I also bought food as well for my family.
