How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different in that I have increased the scale of my farming activities. I am now able to cultivate a bigger land compared to when I was not receiving the monthly income. Right now, I am planting more nappier grass to cater for the increasing number of cattle that I keep. This makes me less worried about my cattle because they will have enough food. To add on that I also employed a caretaker who closely monitors their progress and updates me when my attention is needed. My farm is now doing well and more productive because I managed to invest more when I received the transfers from Give Directly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My next goal is to buy another dairy cow. Dairy cows have a lot of benefits despite it being tedious and demanding. Now that I have someone to help me with some of these activities, I think I can now add one more cow to the few that I currently have. This will increase my income and improve my living standards.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is that I was able to employ a farmhand to help us with some farm activities. This was made possible with the fact that I know I will be able to pay for the services with the help of the monthly transfers. Through this, I was able to improve farm productivity because the farmhand is doing it fulltime. Before, I could sometime get busy with other activities outside hence the productivity was affected.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to be a successful farmer and improve on the proceeds of my farm products. I believe that once I invest and improve my farm produce I will get more income which will improve my living standards. I will be able to meet most of my family's needs. I would comfortably pay my children's school fees, ensure they eat well and never lack anything. In other words, my life will be better.
