What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent the larger part of my third transfer on building my own homestead by putting up a decent semi -permanent house as the traditional customs state since before the transfer I was staying in parent's in -laws homestead due to lack of money and the possibility of having my own homestead never sound as really as it is at the moment. I am thankful to GiveDirectly for the assistance as it has brought a big difference in my household.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on purchasing decent clothes for my children, bought food to sustain the family members and used most of the amount on purchasing seats because I had old and outdated ones.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer I felt very happy, it was like a dream because I had never received such a lumpsum amount of money in my life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that we have faced is the prolonged drought that has made food and water so hard to get. Prices of food and water is so high that we are at times forced to miss some meals as well as drinking water.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest during the afternoons because I have people around to chat with and share a laugh
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money is a joy to this family because we will be able to move to our own homestead and have a bigger house. Having my own homestead gives me freedom and comfort that we are missing in my mother in laws homestead where I currently stay.
