How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My plan was to send my children to school, and to change my leaking thatched roof. Because the house I'm living in right now has leakage all over roof. Before than my children where all out of school due to low income. I'm a farmer and my income was very low as well. But when I started receiving money from givedirectly, my life began to change. My children are all healthy and in school now, I have also changed my leaking thatched with iron sheets roof. Many thanks to Givedirectly for their support.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has done very well in my life and that of our village, givedirectly has changed our entire village with so many new houses, if it's wasn't for givedirectly my children was going to be out of school this year, givedirectly paid my children school fees, givedirectly has also empowered our families with financial support. How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new goal is to focus on my daughter education. When I got my first transfer, I bought building materials to recodition my house. With my second transfer, I have decided to pay all my daughter school fees. When she gets educated, my life will be transformed through her. This is first of it kind for me to pay all her tution on time. I use to find it difficult to get money to pay her fees. With the help from GiveDirectly, I am a proud father. I can't stop thanking GiveDirectly for this transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is an exceptional NGO that helps extremely poor people. They gave me money and there is no corrupt and third party involve. They visit my house and talk to me with respect. I don't know anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well. All I have is appreciate.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spend my money on my daughter education. My daughter is in a mission school that is very expensive. I couldn't afford to pay her fees, because the instructors in her school teach well, I didn't want to change her school. Upon recieving this transfer, I have decided to pay her school fees to enable her stay in school. No one would've done what GiveDirectly has done. I appreciate GiveDirectly for my transfer.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was one afternoon while sitting in front of my house, at about two o'clock, I saw my neighbors who had gone early to the next town where lonestar network is available to check whether the transfer has been sent coming with joy. After they had explained that their transfers were in their phones, I waited till the next day when I myself went to check if mine has been sent too. The moment I reached to the network area, I received an alert on my phone that I have received forty thousand three hundred seventy five dollars from GiveDirectly. I could not hold myself from dancing when I got the alert. I was absolutely over happy. Recieving this amount of money at this time while I am already in old age is a blessing from God through GiveDirectly to me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I am no more worry about cutting thatches to cover my house every rainy season. I am no longer going to be living in a house that the walls and floors are clay but instead a house that that the walls and floors are plastered with concrete. If I may say, that is the biggest difference in my daily life since I started recieving payments from GiveDirectly. May the almighty God bless the management of GiveDirectly for enrolling me into the program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have not cash out my transfer yet but when I shall have cashed it out, I will buy zinc and cement because I want to demolish the current building I am in. I have reached an age that I no longer work like I did when I was young. I have lived in this house since the days of my youth. As you can see, it is now in deplorable condition. I am so thankful for this opportunity from GiveDirectly. I am going to use this opportunity to build a better house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have been praying to get money and when I get this transfer, i will use it to roof my house with zinc, instead of going in the bush everytime to replace taches, especially now that I am getting older. I will also use the balance to support my daughter who lives and goes to school in monrovia.
What is the happiest part of your day?
From the beginning of the farming season I was worried about how to get my farm clean-up, but my Son-In-Law was able contract people to brush my farm, help plant my rice as well as fence the farm. Now I have something at least I am depending on for food.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Right now my challenge is, I am not able to get money to roof my house as well as all of my daily needs.
