What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer 10,000 KES to settle school fees for my children. 30,000 KES was spent to settle the bridal price back at my home. My husband was relived. The remaining amount was spent to purchase iron sheets to help me in the construction of my house in the near future.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,GD has improved the living standards of people in the village. There is no record of wrong that I have towards GD.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has really improved ever since I received the transfers. Currently I live in my own home and all this has been made possible by GD. I used to stay in my grandparent place but now I own a home.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used a portion of the transfer to pay my daughter and son in primary school fee. Purchased some chairs and a cow with a portion of the transfer. I also purchased foodstuffs for family consumption with the rest of the money.

The moment I received the transfer, I felt very happy because I've never handle such a huge money in my life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is how to ensure that my kids are throughout in school without being sent home for school fees.I lack money to facilitate the same and to buy them enough food too.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the morning when I've received a number of customers for my charcoal business. This is so because I'm able to spread along some profit earned to cater for school fees and food as well.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that rooms for improving life is still open. I feel happy because I know that better things lie a head!
