How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that i have managed to build a very nice spacious ironroofed granary to store my grains, I am sure of not running at a lose again as i use to. The granary is also very spacious that can accommodate many bags of maize comfortably as compare to before when I was using a very small grass-thatched leaky granary. My grains will in a safe place that I will not need to dry them out every now and then. I also now have enough cattle that I can sell when I have any emergency.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly is a trustworthy organisation because they promised to give the community support and they did as they said. It is an organisation that is very transparent because everything they were doing we could see and confirm that are true and their staffs were not corrupted.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer to buy building materials and built a granary for keeping my grains. I had a very old grass-thatched granary which was really leaking when it is raining, this could affect my grains because they are were being rained on and then they get rotten. I was going at a lose after my hard work in the farm, because I could now not sell them any more or consume them. Sometimes I could dry them out in the sun but this was very hectic because I had to it like almost every week. Since I built the granary I am a very happy farmer because I never gone at a lose and it has also encouraged me to work extra hard to get more yeild to store in my new granary. The remaining balance I spent to improve my cattle keeping by adding more goats as my future investment.
