How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have started my house project that needs to be completed. Therefore, I used a huge portion of my transfer to buy 15 bags of cement. The cement will be used to plaster my house and also put a concrete floor within the entire house. My balance transfer was used to buy food and a very big mattress for my family and I. GiveDirectly has become a huge blessing to me and my family. I am grateful.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I needed money to buy few bags of cement to plaster my house. I also needed to buy a bigger mattress for my family. Purchasing enough food for my household was a priority as well. Therefore, when I received my recent transfer, I bought enough cement to complete my house project and move in with my family. The balance money was used to buy a bigger mattress and enough food for my home.

Everything that GD has done thus far has been straightforward and rewarding. It surprises me most often to see an Organization like GiveDirectly that gives out huge amount of money as goodwill. These transferred amounts has affected my life positively. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for all they do.

My major priorities were to complete my building project and also purchase a big and comfortable mattress for my family. Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was in my village and I heard people shouting that givedirectly has sent them money, right away I give my phone to my brother son to go at the network areas to check if my is there, because I have a foot injury. When the little boy came and said that my money was in my account, I was so much overwhelm and happy that day. I was happy because in my whole life I haven't received such money for free without paying back. Before than life had been so hard on me, I have been sick with my foot injury problem. I can't do anything on my owned. My wife and children will farm the whole day and sale the products before getting money to support my family. But I'm so grateful to God and givedirectly for the level of support they are given my family and I. I'm so grateful. Because I been plaining to get my owned living place. The house I'm living in right now is my biggest brother house. Now with the support from givedirectly I'm getting my owned home.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I started receiving my payment my life has changed. Because I'm now having money to buy material to build my own house in my village. I have money now to support my family. My children are all healthy and eats twice a day. I'm so thankful to GiveDirectly for their support.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received my transfer my first transfer I was able to buy gas to saw my planks to start my building project. I also bought 2 canton of Nile to keep for my next transfer. I bought enough foodstuff for my family. And keeping the rest for family problems.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to amputate my leg when I receive my transfer. In 2015 October I was working with a logging company (ICC) and I had an accident and my leg got broken. The accident cause me to become disabled and the company refused to help me to get proper treatment. So when I received my transfer, I will use it to amputate my leg and use a false leg to be able to move around freely.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last 6months I have been living in pains because of my condition. But I was happy in December when God carried me safely for my church convention.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My main challenge now is my left foot. Since the accident life have been difficult for me because I am not able to work like before to support my family. My children are living in Buchanan with my wife going to school.
