How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am doing a very small business just sustain me and my family. My plans were to build a house and make my business a large one. The money generated from the business was not enough to achieve my dreams. The house my family and I are staying in can not accommodate us. When I receive my first transfer and second transfer from GiveDirectly, I used the whole transfer on zinc and other building materials with transportation because I need the house to accommodate my family and I and for our comfort. I am building my house with a shop because of more financial income in the future. When I receive my third transfer, I use $25,000.00LRD to saw planks for the the house and now I am waiting for my last transfer from Givedirectly to finally complete my house and open my shop up for business.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly was fair enough during the enrolment process and determining who is eligible. Every deserving households in various communities were visited during this process and enrolled. Looking at their process of operation, I have not seen anything that is not done well by GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Over the pased period of time, I have not been able to achieve my dreams because I had no money. I have living in a tight house with my family and also doing a hand to mouth business that could not sustain us for long. When I receive my first and second transfer, I used it to buy zinc and other building materials. The third transfer, I used $25,000.00LD to saw the planks for the the house because I need a better house that will accommodate my family and I. I have placed a shop on the house also to be use in the future to sustain me and my family.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am staying in my eldest brother's house. Due to this reason, I have been planning to build my own house but I never had the financial support to do so. The very first day I ever receive my transfer, I was so very happy because I believe that my life has changed and my dreams has come true. When I receive the first transfer from Givedirectly, I decided to buy two bundles of zinc to bring my plan to reality and I also bought six bags of rice to sell and increase my money while I am waiting for my second transfer to pay peopleand startmy house project.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Most of us in our town were sleeping in rooms two-two, but now with the help of Givedirectly, most of us are now independent and we are building our own houses to stay in whit our families. Some of had no future because we had no solutions to our poverty problems. Today in our town, we are all happy because of GiveDirectly. In my thinking, I do believe that there is nothing wrong that GiveDirectly have done because we are all happy and that's the best part of life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have never been so happy like the way I am now. I staying in my brother's house has been stressful for me, but I had no choice because there is no money to build myself a house. When I received my recent transfer, I decided to used it for development and business purposes. I divided the money into three segments. The first portion I used it to buy zinc. The second portion I used it to buy six bags of rice to sell and increase my money why I am waiting for my second transfer, I am saving the other portion of the transfer for nearer future use.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money I was so excited. I was cooking when I started hearing noise in the town and when I checked my phone I saw my transfer alert. Then we all started dancing and shouting in excitement. Things have been very though on me. I have been living in my family house and to even have a cup of rice to eat has not been easy. I'm so happy to be a beneficiary of this program because a lot of broken things in my life will be put together.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
One of the biggest differences in my daily life since I started receiving transfer from GiveDirectly is relaxation. Living in a family house and can't afford my daily meals is worrisome and stressful. Since I received this money my life changed for the best.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I'm blessed to receive money from GIVEDIRECTLY, I'll build my house for my family and myself to live. This is something I've long been wanting to do but i don't have the means to even start.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have had a lot of unfortunate things coming my way including accidents and debts. I am just a little hopeful that things work out for me on this Givedirectly program that will bring me real joy and happiness.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My greatest challenge now is i am stuck in a single room with my husband and children so there is no privacy or comfort. I don't even have enough space to keep my belongings and market goods. My biggest challenge is to build a house of my own.
