How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I bought a quality cow using my transfer and few months from now I am certain that I will start earning money from the milk that I will be selling to the locals. This will give me the financial independence that I have been yearning for tears
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The fact that you do not have to know someone to get enrolled into GiveDirectly programs is the most beautiful thing about this organization. Many poor people have successfully been enrolled that may not have had a chance if it was another organization doing the same. I sincerely thank GD for changing our society.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I am planning to spend my second transfer on building a better house. I live in a single-roomed house that is too small to accommodate my entire family leave alone visitors. I am forced to take my visitors to spend their nights at my neighbor's house something that is immensely inconveniencing them. I am planning to purchase materials worth kes 30,000 and the remaining balance will to buying household items.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was at home relaxing when I received the SMS on my phone indicating that I had received the promised amount of 55000/= from GiveDirectly. I was so happy to see this because I knew my dream was now going to be fulfilled. I informed my whole family and they were happy too, we celebrated together and said thanks to GiveDirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The money is going to create a big difference in my life and that of my family. The dairy cow that I bought is going to be of great benefit to us. We will now be able to get enough milk that we can sell and get money to use on other developments such as buying trees. We can cut down the trees and get fencing poles for fencing the compound. Apart from that, the money from milk sales will also enable us to buy food and other basic needs. Thank you GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The transfer from GiveDirectly has helped me in buying a dairy cow. The cows that I have are traditional cows and they have stopped lactating as of now. They also produce very little milk that is only enough for consumption. The dairy cow is what I have always wanted to have but due to lack of a large sum of money, I was not in a position to buy it. The small amounts of money that I have been getting, have been going to other activities in the household and payment of school fees for a child who was still in school. So when I got the transfer from GiveDirectly, I saw it as an opportunity to buy what I have always desired.
