What does receiving this money mean to you?
"If I should be eligible for this cash transfer, I firstly plan to pay my younger kids tuition and send some of the money to my sister in Kakata, Margibi county(one of Liberia's 15 counties) where my older son is living due to the lack of senior high School in our village. He has just been promoted to the 11th Grade, I want him to acquire vocational education from the Booker's Washington Institute. If our son acquires the vocational skills, it will empower him to be a help to his younger siblings in acquiring higher education and even cater for us his parents when we are older and unable to do anything.
Secondly, I intend to build a house of our own. The house we currently live in is made of one room. Moreover, the house is not durable due to the materials (Sticks and mud) we used while building. As a result of the one room, all of my kids including my husband and I sleep in the same room. Many at times family from distance areas wish of visiting us, but it's not possible."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"My greatest in the last six months came last week when my older sister informed me that my elder son was promoted to the 11th Grade.
This brought me the greatest joy because neither my husband nor myself or any member of our family has ever graduated from high school.
My son's promotion to the 11th Grade doesn't only makes me a proud mother, but I'm assured of a better old age because he has always promise of improving our lives when he starts to work."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
" The challenges I'm currently face with are educating my children and building a new house.
In our entire village, there isn't any junior or senior high school, if you want your kids to forward their education beyond elementary level, you have to send them to another location in other to attend a junior or senior high school. The major challenge in this is getting the finances to support them.
Secondly, I intend to build a house of our own, but getting the money to construct the house is the greatest challenge. The house we currently live in is made of one room. Moreover, the house is not durable due to the materials (Sticks and mud) we used while building. As a result of the one room, all of my kids including my husband and I sleep in the same room. Many at times family from distance areas wish of visiting us, but it's not possible."
