How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I did not receive these transfers I would have been in problems because I would not have bought the things that I have now. I would not even be thinking about building a house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did a very good job because they gave us cash transfers without asking for the money back. The field officers were respectful and they did their job very well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the second transfer to buy iron sheets because I want to build a house. I have saved some of the money so that I should be able to pay the builders.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
In Mangochi, transport cost is very high if compared to other parts of Malawi. This is the same with transport cost from the village going to Mangochi boma. Although it's a reasonable distance but we pay a fortune. I have never liked the idea on how it is charged on but I have always wish I had my own means of transport. The desire came along when my child got sick in the evening and I was charged double the fare. The coming in of the GD program, has made my life different. With the money, I was able to buy a biscycle. With it I am able to visit places with my family without worrying of transport fare. From the journey, we are able to sleep on a very comfortable place whilst covering ourselves with good beddings, a thing we always dream of but we couldn't have managed to buy in the next 10 years. Thanks alot GD for the cash gift
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have bought iron sheets, blanket, biscycle, matress, and food.
