Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My goal in the four months is to lump up our transfers with my spouse and save in order to buy another cow for rearing. I currently have to and I want to improve on my dairy farming by buying one more.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I was able to seek medical assistance using the transfer and I am now well and healthy. I m also glad that my baby has several pairs of clothes too to change, hence keeping the hygiene of the baby high which in turn reduces the risks of diseases and infections.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to have built a bigger semipermanent house. When we bought this piece of land, we did not have enough money to build better spacious houses. We were forced to build what we could afford which was mud walled and they are quite small. I also expect to be having one additional dairy cow for rearing. The proceeds from the sale of milk from the cows will help us meet our daily needs.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to buy a heifer so that when the it calves down we shall have milk for use at home and for sale. Having one for my own will make me proud to have contributed to the wealth of our family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, I have been saving part of my transfers with the intention of buying a cow. As at now, I have saved KES 18900 with I will pout together with my next transfers and buy a high breed heifer. Making such savings with a short period of time is an achievement to me as I wouldn't have managed to raise such amount with casual jobs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I believe that receiving these transfers would enable me to support cash crop farming. I am thinking of growing short term crops which do well in this region. This would enable us to double our income and get some for food.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The anxiety of becoming a parent is worsened by fears of a bleak financial future. I had been very worried about how I was going to cater for my first born child yet I did not have a reliable source of income. As a result, I began using the money I received over the last four months to buy clothes and other provisions for the expected baby. I managed to handle the journey of my first pregnancy with a lot of confidence knowing that all was well because I could use the money that comes to every month form GiveDirectly. In fact, I recently delivered via a Caesarian section but managed to pull through the very expensive procedure using the money I get as a top up. My husband and I are so lucky to be part of this program. Without it, our lives would be in a financial mess as a result of the procedure and the aftercare needs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I don't have an additional goal in the next four months but to keep saving towards buying a dairy cow. I need a dairy cow and I know I will use the savings that I keep in my merry go round to purchase it.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I have more land under cultivation. This was possible because I leased another parcel of land using the money have been receiving over the last four months. This land is under maize cultivation that will be used for food and also for sale. More farmland means that I get more income. This will go a long way in meeting my family's needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect that I will be having a cow in the next six months. I will have saved enough money from the transfers and will have completed the purchase. This means that my income will enable me to assist my husband in providing our families needs.
