What does receiving this money mean to you?
"I use gun (single barrel) to build and send my children to school. My parents were killed by LPC soldiers in 1996 during the war. Since then I have been hurting throughout my life to feel my family and send my children to school with animals that I killed. Whenever I sell those animals, I always kept some of the money and today am living in this house with my family. So my plan for this cash transfer is to build a big house and pay my children to school fees with whatsoever GiveDirectly is going to give me."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"Thanks for his grace because my wife was at the point of death but for few months now, she is responding to treatment and for this, am feeling happy ."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
" I really want to send my children to school because am in my future currently and seeing them presently, they are my futures and the futures for their family too. So I am wholeheartedly hoping that they go to school and become a better persons tomorrow but my main challenge here is money. I don't have money to keep the faith of their futures unless other extended assistance to come to my needs. Again my wife who really used to help me is ill and as father who has to go hustle is home taking of the family breaks me down. "
