Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My next plan in the next four months is to invest in short term cash crops so that when I get to harvest and sell it, I will be in a position to raise money for school fees and other family expenses.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Previously, my children would be sent home for school fees since I would not raise money to pay school fees on time. This would give me lots of stress and would wonder how I would manage it with farming which is a seasonal activity. Being set home frequently would affect their academic performance. When I got my transfers, I was able to settle the fee arrears and pay one term ahead. This gave me a lot of peace which didn't have before. I am happy that Give Directly came to my rescue.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I believe that I would have started harvesting crops which I am yet to plant soon. I am thinking of planting potatoes and beans which takes a shorter period to harvest. There is a high demand for this produce and I believe that it will earn me good money that will enable me to pay school fees for my children.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Being the first born in a family of 9 siblings was a difficult thing for me. Difficult because I had to carry the burden of helping my younger brothers and sisters in many ways. I had to help my parents pay school fee for my younger siblings. Considering that I did not have a reliable source of income, I had to struggle to meet my immediate family's needs and those of my siblings. This was the biggest hardship for me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when my family and I wake up strong and healthy. I am particularly happy when I know I have enough food for the day for my family.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend part of my transfer on paying school fee for my three children who are in various schools. I also intend to use the remaining transfers on meeting other household basics like food and clothing for my family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement that am proudest of is when I was finally able to buy a piece of land for my family. We had a small piece of land which limited us in terms of what we could do to reap benefits from it. I struggled a lot to increase the size of our land. Since then, we have been able to diversify farming and improve the living standards of our family.
