What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means safety for me. My house is in a very poor state. The mud-constructed walls are falling off. This is a threat to my security. Wild animals can have easy access to my house. I am also no longer protected against the cold, leaving me exposed to pneumonia. I am intending to renovate my house. I will seal all the ruinous walls. The cost will roughly be 15,000 KES. A decent house will be an assurance of protection and good health.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Despite the disabilities that are kicking in due to old age, reaching 82 years of age is more of a blessing to me and I am joyful for that.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am an 82 years old widow. I can no longer walk because my legs are no longer strong. For me to move, I only crawl. This has rendered me a full dependant on my children. I can neither fetch water nor cook for myself.
