Having bought a dairy cow recently using my second transfer, my aim at the moment is to plant some feeds in a section of my farm. With this, I will have a constant supply of milk even during the dry season since my livestock will be having enough feeds. In addition, I will be able to earn money from the sale of surplus and use it to cater to our basic needs and in case of an emergency.

The moment I received the money I felt so happy. I remember it was around 9am. I was on my farm digging, When I heard a message tone from my phone. I called my daughter to check it for me. She told me that it was a message confirming that I have received money from GiveDirectly. I felt so happy because I have never received such amount of money before. My family members celebrated the good news. I knew I would be able to buy a dairy cow.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have purchased a dairy cow. I used to buy milk daily and this is so costly for me. I depend on small scale farming and the amount of money that I get through this is so small and it's only for household basic needs. I do not have a continuous source of income apart from the poutry keeping project. Currently I have enough milk for my family and I sell the rest to earn an income to meet other household need. I no longer get worried on where to get the money to buy the milk. I have devoted much of time on this amazing dairy project and poultry keeping. This two gives me hope and strength to walk up and do my daily work nicely.

I spent KES 35,000 to purchase a dairy cow. I used to buy milk daily and it was so costly for me. I bought the building materials and build a poultry house. This has ease the poetry work that I do. The rest of the money I bought clothes and food for the family. I am so happy because GiveDirectly has changed our living standards.
