Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I plan to build a small shop o one end of my farm. I want to start selling household items that are always in high demand here since the nearest shops are quite a distance away from the village.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily is the availability of a water tank in my compound. I harvest and store rainwater that I use for about three months even there is no rain at all. I, therefore, manage to go through the longest drought here without suffering from a shortage of water.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Running a shop is one of my biggest expectations in the next six months. I plan to have established a shop business. Income from this is going to be helpful as soon as my children join secondary schools. I am trying to make sure that I get this shop to ensure a stable income because, after this year, my financial needs are going to be bigger with my firstborn child joining a secondary school.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life Is that it the amount of casual hard labor I used t do has reduced. This is because I get an income to spend on daily household needs from selling the milk I get from the cow I bought.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to have changed in the next six months because I will have plenty of food for my family because I will have harvested maize and beans that I just planted after getting my transfer. My cow will also be approaching calving as it is already in gestation period.I expect my income from milk to go up and this makes me really hopeful and happy.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different in that i would not have bought a cow.I would still be doing a lot of casual jobs in tilling farms to get to feed my family.I also have a a kitchen that I would not have built yet but could still be using a dilapidated one that leaks when it rains.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
My news are to buy a motor bicycle .This will earn me a daily income.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
When I was a young boy, I contracted TB which has been a problem for me. Currently, I feel that I am not strong healthwise as a result of the illness. It is hard for me to do some farmwork and therefore, I have to rely on my wife to do all the farmwork so that my children can eat.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the morning because I have woken up feeling well despite my illness.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
When I receive my transfers, I am planning to use the money to buy a cow. This cow will subtitute my farming because I am no longer able to till.my land as a result of illness.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
My greatest achievement is my dairy cow. It is an achievement because I had to work hard in tilling my farm and planting seasonal crops such as maize and beans which I later sold and used the proceeds to buy a cow. I am now able to provide milk for my children and also meet their needs because I sell some milk.
