Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was in shock and I becomne very happy. As much as I was excited, the money was such a relief to the challenges that I have been facing especially the food issue..I am so grateful for the cash.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is that I am now able to have three meals a day..In the past, most of the times we could eat once or twice a day, but now I am able to eat all the three meals that are nutrious and gives me and my family strength. I have also been able to improve the outlook of my house such that one can notice my house from a far as it looks beautiful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With my first cash transfer I bought 26 Iron sheets which costed me about k208,000 which I intend to use in improving the roof of my house. I also bought four bags of maize.These four bags of maize costed me k36,000 and I bought them just so that I could top up In order to sustain my household. Lastly I bought 2 windowframes, as we are talking, I have managed to replace the old windowframes with these new and I also managed to renovate my bicycle with the 2 tyres that I bought..The bicycle wil be of huge help to my household as it will be used as a means of transportation especially when going to the clinic or maize mill.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a construction development at my household. The transfer will help build my house, I will get to finally plaster it also buy iron sheets

I am usually happy during the evening because I am able to eat with my family when everyone is back from where they went .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have only struggled when the country experienced bad rains which made it impossible for us to have good yield from our farms
