I am happy that my life has been impacted greatly.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The money was sent very early in the morning while I was in the process of cleaning the house. When I saw the message I felt so happy, kept the phone away so that no one could get a glimpse ofit. I ensured I stayed with the phone for two days as I was budgeting and later withdrew it.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the pride of owning goats. These are investments and owning them them makes me feel financially secure. I am guaranteed of school fees for my children when they get to enroll in school.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought 3 goats with part of the recent transfer for rearing as away of investment for the future . Since goats give birth twice a year, I am hopeful that in three years time I will several of them. My children are still young so by the time when they get of school age I will raise their school fee from the goats. Aportion of the money I spent on our clothing so as to replace the old worn out ones.
Part of the money I have saved for future use.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have always wanted to do more of livestock farming but lack of money has been the hindrance. When I receive this money I will use 200 USD to add 10 more goats to my herd of 6. I will also buy one dairy cow at a cost of 200 USD. With livestock, they always multiply very fast and though their sale once in a while,I will be able to get money to satisfy my needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My day is usually very busy. I start by doing the house chores and fetching water. I then embark on looking for charcoal to sell. This involves a lot of movement and hard work in the scorching sun. I am usually tired by the end of the day. Evening comes as a relief to me since I get time to relax after a busy day. This makes it the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am charcoal vendor and my spouse is employed to look after cattle. I get very little money from selling charcoal and my spouse earns 35 USD in a month. With the tough economic times, this is very little and cannot satisfy all our needs. As a young mother of one ,settling into marriage requires a lot such as getting good shelter, investing and saving money for educating my children. This has been a hard to fulfil due to low income. This has therefore been the biggest hardship of my life.
