What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have really welcomed this project because I am tired of poverty. My house is incomplete and is thatched with grass. The floor is made of sand as well. When I receive this money, I plan to buy iron sheets which I will use as a new roof. I will also buy cement for the floor and to plaster the walls. On top that, I will buy maize to last till the next harvesting season. I have a farm but I don't harvest enough maize because I don't apply enough fertilizer. This means I will have to buy fertilizer as well to use in the next farming season.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I can say that the time I harvested 7 bags of maize from my farm was the happiest moment. This meant that I could eat enough without having to work in other people's farms.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face now is lack of enough food. The maize I harvested earlier this year finished. As of now, I depend on farming in other people's farms who give me a few backets of maize. I have to farm for at least a week to find maize to last a month.
