How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Life is different in that I have cultivation land, I am now officially married in the village, and have livestock which can be sold incase of any future financial problems like school fees. Before, I didn't have where to cultivate and no prestigious status of being a married woman in the village.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly has done well giving us money directly that has enabled people to buy land, marry wives, build iron sheet houses, acquire livestock; and there's nothing it hasn't done well in my opinion.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
My second transfer was spent to hire cultivation land for a period that the money will be brought back , bought a cow and a bull, household items like a bed, bed sheets, curtains, and seeds of maize, groundnuts and beans.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in our daily lives is that we are no longer on pressure from my parents. My husband was on tension and always worried on how he would pay my dowry. However, we are pleased that we have purchased the livestock and we are carrying out the final marriage preparations.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I became so happy knowing that my husband would fulfill the traditional obligation of paying my dowry. When I received the money ,the next day I had to cook chicken and rice to celebrate my happiness.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for buying livestock at UGX1,500,000, a mattress at UGX 100,000 and clothes of UGX 100,000.
